Vitamin D3 itself does not have physiological activity. It must be transformed by 25(OH)VD3, which is calcidiol, through the liver and then hydroxylated by 1α-hydroxylase in the kidneys to 1,25-(OH)2D3, calcitriol, in order to exert physiological regulatory functions.
When vitamin D3 is added to the basic diet, its conversion efficiency decreases due to liver and intestinal damage or developmental effects. After absorption by the small intestine, 25-HYDROXY vitamin D3 enters the bloodstream directly, with a biological potency 3-5 times that of vitamin D3, making it a high-end feed additive.
Synsea Bio uses vitamin D3 as raw material and produces high-purity 25-HYDROXYVITAMIN D3 through enzymatic conversion processes, then further obtains highly stable formulations through microencapsulation technology.
